This is to kick off a new group or club within the Dunoon Community Shed. It is for people interested in modelling such as
- Scale modelling including injection moulded plastic kits (Airfix, Tamiya, Revell, etc) of anything but including aircraft, ships, tanks, cars, etc.
- Flying aircraft including radio controlled. We have been donated a number of powered aircraft and sailplanes as built models and unmade kits. We would love to have people to take these on.
- Buildings made of card, plastic or other materials.
The idea is that we get together once a week and bring along our own projects to get help and advice, share experiences, work on projects together and generally socialise.
If this takes off, we will develop facilities, toolkits and materials for model makers at the shed. These are likely to include 3D Printers, airbrush facilities, etc.
If you are interested, please contact us through the contact page.
You can also just turn up to the inaugural meeting which will be on Saturday 12th October from 1pm until 3pm.
Youngsters are welcome but if they are under 18 years of age, they must be accompanied by a responsible adult, preferably a parent.
Feel free to bring your current projects and we will also chat about how to move forward.
Ultimately, there will be no specific charge for the club except for the normal Shed membership (£20 per annum) and an attendance charge of £2 per session to cover costs of heating, lighting, tea and coffee, etc. There will be no charge for the inaugural meeting and you will not be expected to make an immediate commitment.
