The woodwork team were asked if it were possible to refurbish a rather dilapidated bar stool, or was it just scrap. The stool had a bit of history and was of sentimental value. It was orginally a bar stool in the Heathbank Hotel at Northbay on the Isle of Barra. The Macleod family had owned the hotel for some 40 years but in 2016 the family retired and sold it. Some of the bar regulars were given one of the bar stools as a memento. This one then lay in a garage / shed since about then. No wonder it was in a bit of a state! It was a sort of challenge but we think it turned out not too bad.
